India plans to introduce electric air taxis by 2028, with testing starting next year. The government sees this as a solution for city congestion, especially in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi where road travel to the airport can take up to two hours. The Civil Aviation Minister has set a two-year target for commercial use, pending safety and affordability.
