The government has advised states to procure pulses from the central buffer instead of the open market to simplify the process and maintain stable prices. They have 2.8 MT of stock for allocation at MSP or dynamic reserve price. India imports 18-20% of its pulse consumption and has allowed duty-free imports to boost domestic supplies.
