Sensex and Nifty rose 3.11% and 2.78% for the week, their strongest performance in six months, as a sharp IT rally, softer oil, a firmer rupee and optimism over tax reviews and an India-US trade deal lifted sentiment. Nifty IT surged 11.72%, its biggest weekly gain in 18 years. Mid-caps rose modestly, while small-caps slipped.
