The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is almost complete, with a 4.9-kilometre tunnel set to open after June 20. This will be India’s first eight-lane road tunnel and will provide uninterrupted movement while preserving the natural habitat above. Once fully completed, the 1,386-kilometre expressway will cut travel time between Delhi and Mumbai to 12 hours.
