India’s pulse imports saw a significant drop of 34% to $3.63 billion in FY26 due to slow demand and a strong domestic crop. The Department of Commerce reported a 12% decrease in imports, with yellow peas and masur being the most affected. Global prices have also decreased, leading to a 30-40% reduction in import costs.
