114 Rafale deal cleared: India’s biggest defence buy moves forward ahead of Macron visit
India is making its largest-ever defence acquisition, including 114 Rafale fighter jets, 6 Boeing P8-I surveillance aircraft, and other military equipment worth Rs 3.60 lakh crore. The majority of the jets will be made in India with over 50% local content. The deal may be finalised during French President Macron’s visit, but a formal contract may take until the end of the year.
