The government has extended the deadline for bids on deepwater and ultra-deepwater oil and gas blocks to November 15, 2026, due to pending rules for the Samudra Manthan scheme. The scheme, approved in July, aims to increase domestic exploration and decrease reliance on imported oil and gas. This is the sixth extension for the OALP-X round, which includes 25 blocks covering 182,589 sq km.
