Good news for UMANG Mobile App users. Keeping their convenience in view, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced new facilities for linking their Universal Account Number (UAN) with their Aadhaar card. These facilities are besides the existing web facility already available at EPFO’s website (www.epfindia.gov.in >> Online Services >> e-KYC Portal>> LINK UAN AADHAAR).

The facility on e-KYC portal has further added a new feature to link UAN with Aadhaar online using biometric credentials. Using these facilities, the members of EPFO can now link their UAN with Aadhaar in the following manner:

Linking with UMANG App

# For using this facility with UMANG App, an EPFO member will have to provide his/ her Universal Account Number.

# An OTP will then be sent to the UAN-registered mobile number.

# After verification of OTP, the EPFO member will have to provide Aadhaar details and gender information (in case gender information is not available against Universal Account Number).

# After doing this, another OTP will be sent on the Aadhaar-registered mobile number or the member’s email.

# After verification of OTP, one’s Aadhaar card will be linked with UAN if details of UAN match with the details of Aadhaar.

Linking with e-KYC portal

# For using this facility through the e-KYC portal, an EPFO member will have to provide his/ her Universal Account Number.

# An OTP will be sent to the UAN-registered mobile number.

# After verification of OTP, one will have to provide Aadhaar details and gender information, and select Aadhaar verification method (Using Mobile/email based OTP /using biometrics).

# Another OTP will be sent on the Aadhaar-registered mobile number or email, or biometric will be captured using the registered-biometric device.

# After verification, Aadhaar will be linked with UAN if details of UAN match with the details of Aadhaar.

It may be noted that in its digitisation drive, the EPFO has also unveiled the facility for e-Nomination for filing one’s nomination form. This functionality is available at Member Interface of EPFO Unified Portal (https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/). Any EPFO member who has Aadhaar-seeded UAN can avail this facility.
