70% for PBORBy: NITESH | 14-Oct-2009 The first anamoly ie 70% pension was recommended by Secretarial Committee, thereafter by Ministerial Committee comprising of Defence Minister, Finance Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister. And also approved by Prime Minister. Not only this, even the Prime Minister announced from Red Fort on 15th August 2009 for speedy clearance. So far it is not known at what stage it is held up. The demands of Officers have been readily agreed but the realistic and justified demand of PBOR is not yet considered. Should it be taken in this way that there is no representation of PBOR and thus the Government can take its own time for clearing the 70% pension for PBORs or even the Government can take risk of demoralising the PBORs who are already demoralised by inordinate delay in release of pension

TDSBy: Suhas Bhagwat | 07-Jul-2009 Respected Sir, Budget overall is pleasing. But Sir mass of Indian people work for Private Sectors. The compensation they get after cutting TDS comes down. Even IT Return filed does not give us monies in time, it is timeless process. Last time in Budget TDS was doubled. We all suffered. This time I thought that this would be considered, but to my knowledge Mr. Finance Minister does not think it as major issue, and has left aside. I would have really appreciated on behalf of all those friends who would have been happy if TDS percentage had been lowered to some extent. Remember Mr. Finance Minister for us EACH AND EVERY RUPEE COUNTS, not in hundreds or crores. Will hope this will be considered in future.

Why should Indian tax regime fall below certain countries just because of DTAA drafted with wrong implications which has resulted in usurping our tax sovereignty by much smaller countries. Let us awake from this being-weak phenomenon.
