Who knew that Hollywood thriller Snakes on a Plane could someday convert to reality? In a flight bound for Mexico, a green reptile uncurled itself into the cabin, giving the passengers on board goosebumps.
The green reptile appeared suddenly on an Aeromexico flight from Torreon in the country’s north to Mexico City on Sunday, emerging from the ceiling behind an overhead luggage compartment. Passengers hurriedly unbuckled themselves from their seats to stay clear from it. While the reptile, on reaching the floor of the flight was captured between blankets by the airline crew.
“I was reading a magazine and the passenger next to me saw it and, ‘Oh my word!”’ Medina told The Associated Press by phone Monday. He estimated it was over 3 feet (about 1 meter) in length. It was a frightening situation. But people remained calm because it didn’t get out of that space and nobody became hysterical, added Medina said.
After the plne was given a priority landing in Mexico City, passengers exited out of the rear while animal control came on board to take away the reptile. Aeromexico said in a statement that it was investigating how the snake got into the cabin and would take measures to keep such an incident from happening again.
