A woman journalist in the US has been sacked for praising President-elect Donald Trump and criticising the outgoing President Barack Obama. The journalist Scarlett Fakhar was working for Fox 26 Houston. Unlike the perception being propagated by the US media that Donald Trump is a divisive figure and Barack Obama is a unifying one in the US, Fakhar had claimed that President Obama was responsible for making all people of the US hate each other.
On her Facebook page, Fakhar had informed her fans that she was sacked from Fox 26 Houston for expressing “conservative views” on her “private Facebook page.” She had also accused that Fox 26 Houston was trying to take her fan page down.
In another post on Facebook, which has been deleted, Fakhar had said that God “had a hand” in the US Presidential election in which Donald Trump emerged the winner, beating Hillary Clinton.
Fakhar had written, “… I prayed for the best leader that will turn this country that has become more violent and racist under the Obama administration than ever…into the America I once knew.
She further said, “Look what Obama has done…how he has made the entire country hate one another. Were you happy with how many people were killing each other in our own country? I work in news..and I hate to say it…but the number of African Americans killing one another far outweighs the number of them being killed by whites. And now you have groups murdering police officers both black and white. How did this happen under the Obama administration? You guys wanted another administration like that?”
Fakhar’s sacking has led to an outrage on social media. Her posts on her Facebook fan page have been receiving lots of supportive comments.
