UnionPay International Launches “YouJiHua” to enhance cross-border Consumer experiences

UnionPay International and its first partners jointly launched "YouJiHua", the world's first open cross-border marketing platform developed by a bankcard scheme.

Ge Huayong, Chairman of China UnionPay, Cai Jianbo, CEO of UnionPay International, and leaders of Bank of China, China Merchants Bank, CYTS, Ctrip, Spring Airlines, SaSa Hong Kong, Prince Jewellery & Watch, LUKFOOK JEWELLERY and ISA, attended the ceremony.
“YouJiHua” is a new platform developed by UnionPay International.

It is joined by various cross-border service providers in the fields of finance, travel and retail.

“YouJiHua” realizes positioning, accurate marketing and instant discounts for cross-border consumption for the first time.

Cardholders may enjoy “YouJiHua” in two ways.

One is to get the QR code discount coupon by exploring the “YouJiHua” “Gift” signage in the mobile apps of UnionPay International, BOC and China Merchants Bank.

Second is to receive the discount coupons promoted by the apps of partner travel agencies when booking airlines and hotels via the apps. (MORE) Asianet

Cardholders can enjoy the highest discount available at the merchant upon presenting the QR code and paying with UnionPay card.

“YouJiHua” is of great significance to all parties.

First, it is a more accurate marketing model based on UnionPay International’s three global marketing programs.

Second, it develops a new business model by bringing issuers, acquirers, travel agencies and merchants into the same industry chain.

Third, it comprehensively improves cardholders’ card-using experiences.

Ge Huayong said, the launch of “YouJiHua” is the fruit of UnionPay and all its partners.

It is the embodiment of the core value that UnionPay adheres to, that is “win-win cooperation and sharing growth”.

It also meets the cardholders’ demand for new payment options.

We will go on developing a cross-border payment service eco-system from which all partners will be benefited.
On the same day, UnionPay International launched two global marketing programs–“100 global airport duty-free shops” and “50 selected travel destinations”.

Now, cardholders can enjoy up to 10%-off at over 100 duty-free shops in about 90 airports globally.

From July 15 to October 15, up to 15%-off discount are offered at over 300 merchants in 50 travel destinations.
