The US President-elect Donald Trump has recently spoke to the International Olympic Committee over the phone extending his support for Los Angeles’ bid to host the 2024 Olympic Games.
Recently, The Los Angeles bid committee took it to social media platform Twitter to informing that Trump spoke with IOC President Thomas Bach expressing his support for the Olympics and for the city’s plans to host great games.
In the bid to grab the hosting opportunity along with Los Angeles are cities like Paris, Budapest and Hungary and America is trying its best to bring back the Summer Olympics since Atlanta hosted the 1996 games. However, the IOC will select the hosting city on September 13, 2017 in Lima, Peru.
Trump had also spoken with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti last week and told him he supported the Olympic bid.
Further, the US Olympic sprinter Allyson Felix sought to soothe any IOC concerns about Trump’s election in a speech to the Olympic delegates in Doha, Qatar last month. Addressing the representatives saying, “Please don’t doubt us. America’s diversity is our greatest strengthen, quoted AP.
