A Qatar-based Indian banker has been awarded the ‘Green Economy Visionary award’ for his contribution in environment-friendly activities and for promoting green economy for nearly two decades.

R Seetharaman, Group CEO of Doha Bank, was awarded at the 2016 Union of Arab Banks International Banking Summit held in Rome on Monday.

He received the award from Mohammed Jarrah Al-Sabah, Chairman of Union of Arab Banks.

It was given to him for his outstanding contribution close to two decades towards environment-friendly activities and thereby promoting green economy.

Seetharaman is a recipient of multiple doctorates.

Doha Bank was incorporated in 1978 and commenced its banking business (including its International Banking services) in Doha, Qatar on March 15, 1979.

Seetharaman is a joke inside his own company, constantly going round collecting awards rather than actually doing anything. Doha Bank is the worst performing bank in Qatar over the last five years, and yet somehow the joker thinks he is a genius.
