In a bizarre incident at Dongguan in Guangdong province of China, a van driver miraculously managed to save himself by jumping out of his vehicle just in time after he saw that its engine had caught fire. The van slid across the road, crashed into a bunch of parked cars, causing a massive fire. The surveillance video shows the quick reflexes of the man as he dives out of the flaming car. About seven vehicles were destroyed in the fire caused by the van – it took half an hour for the firefighters to douse the flames.
Recently, another video of a car catching fire also did the rounds on the net. The video taken by a motorcyclist captures the vehicle getting engulfed in flames. The driver, however, gets out of the car a few seconds later and opens the bonnet as another person on the street, who had been watching the whole incident, douses the fire from a small fire extinguisher he had kept in his car.
In another peculiar video, a young man sprays a deodorant in his car and then lights a cigarette. What happens next is surreal and frightening as the car is engulfed in flames and the video camera which is in selfie mode captures three people in the car. The young man sitting in the passenger seat can be seen fighting away the flames and the video ends with the camera hurriedly thrown away on the car’s dashboard.
Another video captured in Nottoden, 110km from Oslo, Norway shows three firefighters trying to extinguish a blazing black sedan when suddenly it starts rolling downhill due to the pressure of the water from the hose. The glowing car looks absurd in the small, scenic town with the quiet hills in the background. The fire-truck chases after it and ultimately douses the flames.
