Kabul rocket attack: A rocket exploded at the volleyball court at the Indian Ambassador’s residence located in the Indian Embassy in the Green Zone of Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul. Ministry of External Affairs sources told the Indian Express that a rocket landed in the volleyball court of the compound. PTI reports that no casualties were reported in the strike. The rocket attack comes days after a massive explosion rocked the diplomatic area of Kabul. Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani told an international peace conference earlier today that the blast which took place last week in Kabul’s diplomatic area claimed the lives of 150 people, he also added that the blast was the deadliest act of violence in the city since 2001, when the Taliban was ousted from the city, as per an Indian Express report.
Ashraf Ghani said, ”More than 150 daughters and sons of Afghanistan had died in the blast and over 300 innocent people were wounded due to the blast. Many of the wounded have sustained burn injuries and many have had to undergo amputations”.
