Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was today projected as the “clear winner” of the second US presidential debate but her Republican rival Donald Trump “exceeded expectations”, a CNN poll said.

The CNN/ORC poll of debate watchers said Clinton was the clear winner in the debate, with 57 per cent saying Clinton won as opposed to 34 per cent for Trump.

CNN said it was a strong showing for the 68-year-old former secretary of state, but not as good as her performance at the first presidential debate, when 62 per cent of debate watchers said she won.

A CNN/ORC poll conducted after the September 27 showdown between the two presidential nominees in the first of the three debates had also shown Clinton as the clear winner, with nearly 62 per cent of voters supporting her as compared to Trump, who was deemed winner by only 27 per cent.

The results also track closely with watchers’ pre-debate preference.

Fifty-eight per cent of debate watchers said they were supporting Clinton before the debate.

Hillary has nothing to offer for this election, except she promises to raise taxes of the middle-cl.Warren Buffett was sitting right there smiling and clapping his hands. The debate? Hillary lied. Not one truth. Plausible? Another lie.It must be exasperating to stand near her, listing to her annoying lies with her "smile and nod".Hillary has media do her campaign for her, because she has no campaign.Hillary will not answer a tough question, has no tough questions because Moderators cut off a tough question.Benghazi? Emails. Eqypt, Libya, Syria. Immigration.Trump has never said religion. Trump has said enforce our immigration law, and our immigration law has an "ideology test". Our law has separation of church and state. Shari'a Islam theocracy, no.Hillary worked another slogan, invented by Hillary. It is all she has: slogans and generalities and raise taxes. The First Family in The White House was mentioned at the end.During the debate, Trump said what the voters wanted to hear: Hillary would be in jail.Next debate, Trump needs to get in more said he has said in his nominee campaign speeches.
