Making a U-turn on one of his controversial campaign promises, a top aide of Donald Trump today said the President-elect will not pursue an investigation against his election rival Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail server as secretary of state.

Trump’s senior adviser Kellyanne Conway told MSNBC’s Morning Joe that the President-elect is setting a tone for Congressional Republicans by refraining from calling for more investigations.

“I think when the president-elect, who’s also the head of your party now, Joe, tells you before he’s even inaugurated he doesn’t wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message—tone and content—to the members,” Conway said.

During his presidential debates, Trump had vowed that if elected, he would appoint a special prosecutor to probe Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state.

The Republican leader had nicknamed his Democratic rival “Crooked Hillary” and had vowed to put her “in jail” over the issue. In his campaign rallies, Trump roused his supporters to chants of “lock her up.”

“I think Hillary Clinton still has to face the fact that a majority of Americans don’t find her to be honest or trustworthy, but if Donald Trump can help her heal, then perhaps that’s a good thing,” Conway added.

OH, I think you are going to find a lot of things Trump's going to back flip on. The man is/was on a huge egomania trip. None the less, it was the low income/educated voters he mislead. For those of us with investments and stocks, we are already seeing increases. Granted your credit card and mortgage interest rates are rising and more than likely inflation will come back next year making it hard for middle and low income to make ends meet. You'll learn a hard lesson, but some of us are going to make money off of this guy!

i think she should stop telling people what she thinks trump is going or not going to do ...the reason i voted for him was to end Clintons corruption and put them both where they belong in prison

Let's remember that all of the HATE Trump spewed and was fiercely (like a pit bull in attack mode) defended by Kellyanne Conway, and now he's walking back on some of it and STILL fiercely defended by Conway shows that whatever "story of the day" Trump wants...Conway will continue to bully her way through the talk shows and over talk anyone suggesting otherwise. Lies Lies Lies by Trump and Conway. Screaming the loudest does NOT make you right! The MAJORITY of the people voted for Hillary Clinton. The Electoral College was easier to purchase!

This is ridiculous...he has nothing to do with this...enough of this BS artist...he is such an ill-advised ignoramus. She had already been cleared twice...he was just lying and pulling the chains of his followers when he said that he would prosecute her. He never had the ability to do that.

Well, Trump has made a mistake. We voted for him based on his campaign promises. So even though I voted for him, in 4 years I won't vote Republican. I'll vote Democrat. We voted for Trump because we were tired of politicians lying to us. If Trump doesn't go after Hillary, he lied to us and it's time to keep searching for an honest leader.

...which means that they already usurped the White House, and both houses, so the damage is done. They could squander a little more tax payer money just to try and rub her face in it. But the bottom line is, they dont have diddley and they never did. The question is, what are Gowdy and Chaffetz going to do to earn a living in Congress now that they have no more witches to hunt?
