Donald Trump Paris agreement: In response to President Donald Trump pulling US out of the Paris climate Agreement, Governors of three US states, California, New York and Washington have announced the United States Climate Alliance, a Coalition which is committed to the climate deal, reported DD News on Friday morning. The agreement was signed by New York Governor M Cuomo, California Governor Edmund G Brown Jr and Washington state governor Jay R Inslee, as per the report.

“The White House’s reckless decision from the Paris Climate Agreement has devastating repercussions not only for the United States but for our planet. This administration is abdicating its leadership and taking a backseat to other countries in the global fight against climate change,” said Governor Cuomo.

Talking about the alliance, he further added that the science and reality of changing climate cannot be ignored. “New York state is committed to meet the standards set forth in the Paris accord regardless of Washington’s irresponsible actions. We will not ignore the science and reality of the climate change and that is why I am also signing an executive order confirming New York’s leadership role in protecting our citizens, our environment and our planet,” he said.

Donald’s Trump decision has seen mixed reactions so far. Former US President Barack Obama expressed serious concerns over the decision and said that by doing so, the Trump Administration has joined a small handful of nations that reject the future. “The nations that remain in the Paris Agreement will be the nations that reap the benefits in jobs and industries created. I believe the United States of America should be at the front of the pack,” Obama said in a statement.

“But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we’ve got,” he added.
