Bentley since 1919, has never failed to provide quality products both in the racing and luxury departments. Mulsanne is one of its popular products derived from its racing pedigree. The nameplate was revived in the year 2010. Since then, Mulsanne has been one of the hot favorites amongst the executive class. The new special edition is thoroughly British inspired product featuring unique colors and wood veneer. Mulsanne 95 will be offered in three tailored exterior colors namely-Britannia Blue, Oxford White and Empire Red. All these classic colors are well-proportioned to get the striking appeal. These colors are specially produced for the limited editions only and handcrafted in company’s paint shop. Moreover, the Flying B bonnet mascot has the dark tint finishing while the side profile is enhanced by 21-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. Rest of profile remains the same with front façade sporting the same traditional Bentley styled grille and rounded headlights which are surrounded with chrome adorning the classic look.
The special edition Mulsanne 95 is a perfect blend of customary and bespoke design with latest add-ons of the technology to enhance the interiors. The wood material is used in harmony with the leather upholstery. The unique wood used inside the cabin has a story behind. It comes from a rare and huge walnut tree which is about 300-400 years old. It was tumbled in a heavy storm in the year 2007 and since then it was being preserved in Fullbeck Hall in Lincolnshire. The Fullbeck Walnut veneering featured in the signatory ‘ring of wood’ embraces the interiors while showing off a complex pattern that gives a rippled effect across the entire cabin. The dual leather upholstery in blue and white gets a red contrast stitching that prompts colors of the British flag. While rest of the comfort features include four-zone air-conditioner, multimedia touch screen with Bluetooth, Ipod and Mp3 connectivity enhanced by 14 speakers, satellite navigation, Hard Disc storage and other luxury features that usually come in this saloon.
Under the hood, the new Mulsanne 95 special edition car sports the same 6.8L V8 engine with twin turbo charging yielding a monstrous power of 505bhp and 1020Nm of peak torque. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 8-speed automatic transmission. Despite being a luxury saloon, the racing potential is still there. The car rushes to 100kmph from standstill in just 5.3 seconds of time reaching the top speed of 296kmph.
The major disappointment for the Mulsanne lovers is that only 15 units of these special editions will be supplied through company’s 22 outlets in the country and exclusively reserved for customers in UK only.
In India, Bentley Mulsanne was launched in the year 2010and offers the same cocoon of comfort, awesomeness in design and exquisite riding experience. The car is obtainable in wide range of total 625 exterior colors with all the other attributes. Currently, it is priced at a whopping INR 2.69 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
