New Delhi : Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi has said that corruption can be clipped and food price inflation tackled through aggressive deployment of digital network.

“Through digital technology we can create a network of real time data. At times I think the problem of mehangai can be solved through provision of real time data”, the BJP candidate for the Prime Minister’s job told the valedictory session of the India Digital Summit held by IAMAI.

Modi, however, stopped short of saying how farmers can take advantage of the real time data on prices without the support of marketing infrastructure that only organised retail brings in its wake. BJP has opposed foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail saying it would cut jobs.

Against the backdrop of complaints of harassment of people from North East which has happened in Delhi and earlier in Bangalore, Modi said there was a case for transferring outsourcing jobs to the North East region so that the youth from there do not need to leave their towns and villages.

“Youngsters in these states are generally tech-savvy with good command of English, making them suitable for digital outsourcing jobs that they can manage from their own villages and towns,” he said.

“Outsourcing jobs are not rocket science and moving them out of big cities will make the country more competitive in the global market which has been seeing a job war.”
