“It is too premature to talk about numbers on Boss, however, we believe given its first of its kind features and ongoing festival season coupled with good monsoon, Boss will help us to partially tide over the month-after-month declining sales,” he said on Wednesday.
The company had reported a 22% decline in its April-September sales to 44,841 units, against 57,324 units sold in the same period last fiscal. The company has introduced Boss in 9.6 tonne, 12 tonne and 13 tonne variants and will launch 8 and 16 tonnes going forward.
Speaking to the FE after the launch event, Dasari said: “We are looking at exporting Boss to the US, Europe with local specifications as was done by Avia from Prague. We have already started exporting Boss to SAARC countries, including Sri Lanka, Nepal and will focus on West Asia and Southeast Asia.”
