Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday applauded the efforts of Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli for his contribution to the government’s Clean India initiative. Kohli, along with other members of the team and BCCI chief Anurag Thakur, had participated in a cleanup drive at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata. The BCCI had tweeted out a video showing the players and the BCCI President participating in the drive.  Prime Minister Modi, who saw the video on a TV channel, applauded team’s gesture and said that it was a “small but powerful gesture that will surely inspire everyone.”

Here’s the conversation between Kohli and PM Modi:

In reply, Kohli thanked the Prime Minister and said, “We all are trying to make a difference for the betterment of our country. Led in an inspirational way by you.”  The drive was conducted when Virat Kohli and the Indian team were playing New Zealand in the second Test of the three match series.
