Cricket legend and former Indian captain Rahul Dravid on Thursday turned 45. Dravid who is currently on national duty as he is in New Zealand with the Under-19 cricket team for the upcoming World Cup. The young lads celebrated their mentors birthday in some style, something that is going to be with him as a memorable memory for the rest of his life. The former Indian captain had cake smeared all over his face by current India U-19 skipper Prithvi Shaw, such irony. After this, all the other boys also jumped in and grabbed the opportunity to do rub the cake on Dravid’s face. Rahul Dravid is an incarnation of class and poise and was the mainstay of the Indian batting for a very long time. Along with geniuses like Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly, the 45-year-old was part of a team that probably constituted the best middle-order in the sport back in the early 2000s.
Significantly, Dravid was admired equally for being a gentleman on and off the pitch. And so, several Indian cricketers, past and present, took to Twitter to wish ‘The Wall’. The Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar himself took to the social media and said,”there might be many strong walls around us but the greatest yet is the one and only, #RahulDravid. Happy birthday, Jammy! My best wishes for the U-19 World Cup.” Harbhajan Singh also wished Dravid via this tweet,”Wishing a very happy birthday to the Great Wall of India.. #RahulDravid what a player..a song from Bollywood I wanna dedicate to u is NA KOI HAI NA KOI THA…..CRICKET MAI TUMHARE JAISA.. Class apart outstanding batting skills and slip catcher.”

Currently, Dravid will be happy with the way his side performed in the first warm-up match ahead of the all-important tournament. Riding on Bengal pacer Ishan Porel’s brilliant bowling performance, India beat South Africa by 189 runs on Tuesday. Porel was the pick of the bowlers for India, returning with figures of 4 for 23 as India scored a massive 332 for 8 batting first. Twin half-centuries by Aryan Juyal (86) and Himanshu Rana (68) helped India post a huge total as South Africa lost wickets at regular intervals in the tall run chase.
