Thirty-three-year-old tennis star Serena Williams believes that she still has plenty of time to achieve the cherished goal of setting a new all-time record of Grand Slam singles title
Having bagged her 19th title at the Australian Open in January this year, Serena is just three shy of the Open-era record of 22 set by Germany’s Steffi Graf and five short of the all-time record of Australian Margaret Court.
Sports24 quoted Williams, as saying that she had no intention of getting too far ahead of herself, and was of the view that the way grand slam tennis is evenly spread out across the year, gives her enough recuperation time to try and win.
But she also admitted that with more opportunity, the competition gets harder every year.
Serena said that if she got her 20th grand slam title at the French Open this year, it would be great, and if she got past that figure, that would be great as well.
She said that her being associated with top-flight tennis was like living a dream from which she did not want to wake up.
