In the first fixture of the Super-Playoffs of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5, Puneri Paltan’s beasts Sandeep Narwal and Dharmraj Cherathalan were up against the raiding machines Nitin Tomar and Rishank Devadiga. The first eliminator match between the Puneri Paltan and UP Yoddha was played at the Dome, NSCI in Mumbai. In what was a closely fought game, Puneri Paltan defeated the UP Yoddha by just 2 points. Rishank Devadiga was the top-raider of the match with 15 points to his name but didn’t get much support from his captain Nitin Tomar. Girish Ernak was the star in Pune’s defence but the most important tackle of the game came from Sandeep Narwal who was quiet for the most part of the match.

9:10 PM: That’s it! Pune have won the match by two points and its the beast: Sandeep Narwal, the man for the big moment who performed that final tackle. The final score was 40-38.

8:57 PM: 15 points for Rishank today. He is the one who has kept UP in the match but he is on the bench with two minutes to go. Can Pune hold on to their two-point lead?
8:55 PM: This match isn’t over yet. Rishank Devadiga is on the bench and Deepak Hooda comes back to the mat for Pune. They lead by 3 points.
8:53 PM: This is a brilliant comeback by UP. The score is 34-33.
8:51 PM: Pune still have a lead of 7 points but they are down to just three points. This is a crucial point in this match and Rishank takes 2 more points.
8:48 PM: Rishank is keeping his side in the match but UP need more than one point. If they can execute an all-out here, we have a game on our hands.
8:46 PM: Rishank Devadiga picks up an important point for his and more importantly he sent Girish Ernak to the bench. Deepak Hooda follows his defender. Pune lead 33-24.
8:44 PM: A 10-point lead for Pune with 10 minutes to go. UP need to make a comeback and they need to do it fast. Pune have picked up 12 tackle points so far.
8:42 PM: Rishank Devadiga also picked a super 10 for UP Yoddha but in the very next raid he was sent to the batch by Girish Ernak. He gets a high 5. Akshay Jadhav also gets a high 5.
8:40 PM: Only 12 minutes left in the game and UP have a huge deficit to catch on. Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda gets a super 10. Another one for the Pune skipper.
8:38 PM: Now, that’s a superb raid by Pune. They execute yet another all-rounder. Pune suddenly lead by 7 points. The score is 27-20.
8:37 PM: This is a great phase for Pune. They have sent Nitin Tomar, Rishank Devadiga and Sagar Krishna on the bench. Pune lead 22-19.
8:35 PM: An equally good start to the second half. Sandeep Narwal takes his first point. Pune now lead 20-19.
8:25 PM: What an exciting first half it has been. A great comeback after by Pune after the early setback. The score is 18-18 which nicely sets up the second half for us.
8:22 PM: Pune raiders are finally making their presence felt. Rajesh Mondal takes away a crucial point, the score is 18-18.
8:20 PM: Deepak Niwas Hooda came in for a do or die raid and took away two crucial points. This also reduces UP to just 2 men. They lead 15-13.

8:19 PM: Girish Ernak has finally announced himself. Performs an excellent dash to win a point for his side. UP lead 15-11.
8:17 PM: Match’s speed has slowed down in last few minutes. Pune is playing on the do or die raid but UP’s defence has come good at crucial moments. The score is 15-10, UP lead.
8:15 PM: UP have scored 9 raid points so far and that’s exactly the number of points Pune have score so far. The score remains 14-10.
8:13 PM: We are into the 10th minute of the match and UP have a healthy lead of 8 points. Deepak Hooda, Cherathalan, Sandeep and Girish Ernak are on the bench.
8:11 PM: Pune defenders are fighting back but they need more from their raiders. Rishank picks up 2 more crucial points, sends Sandeep Narwal to the bench.
8:09 PM: Brilliant start for UP Yoddha. Rishank Devadiga picked up two points to execute the first all out of the match. UP lead 10-5.
8:07 PM: Akshay Jadhav brings Pune back in the game, performs super tackle on Nitin Tomar. UP lead 5-3.
