ISL 2017 Score Kerala Blasters vs ATK: ISL 2017 kicked off today and it will virtually be Manchester By the Sea when defending champions Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) locked horns with Kerala Blasters at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi. It is a clash between former Manchester United players – for ATK it is their coach Teddy Sheringham and for Kerala Blasters it is their star striker Dimitar Berbatov and defender Wes Brown. ATK have never lost their season opener and would be looking to continue their winning streak against Blasters, who have lost only once in their opening match in three seasons. Moreover, it is also a repeat of last year’s clash at JLN Stadium, Kochi, where the hosts would eye revenge whereas the defending champions will try to start their campaign with a win. This year the tournament will stretch out for four months due to the inclusion o two new teams- Jamsedhapu FC and Bengaluru FC. ISL 2017 final will be played on March 17 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.

Here are Kerala Blasters vs ATK  Updates:

9:56 pm: Neither team has found a way to the back of the net and the match has ended 0-0.

9:24 pm: ATK players are trying their best to go the big, but have been nullified so far by Blasters defenders.

9:21 pm: Now, ATK to go for substitution, Robin Singh comes in. He is a tall player and might be useful as he can hold the ball and is also dangerous in aerial attacks.

9:19 pm: Ian Hume substituted, he had a great game but could not inspire his team to take the lead.

9:17 pm: Ten minutes gone in the second half, and neither team look like threatening the others goal so far. But one goal in the match will change the whole situation in Kochi, especially if it is for the hosts Kerala Blasters.

9:14 pm: It is a rather slow pace game with both the teams trying o keep he possession of the ball. Not alot of action has been seen so far.

9:12 pm: Blasters have started controlling the game. But they still need to find the net.

9:09 pm: Iain Hume has moved into the centre of attack while, Berbatov will look to drop off behind him and help create some chances.

9:06 pm: Second half begins, both teams will eye for a win.

8:50 pm: At first half score 0-0.

8:46 pm: Last minute action in the first half. Both the teams did their bit to send the ball past goalkeepers.

8:43 pm: With 4 more minutes to go for first half, ATK and Blasters are still locked at 0-0.

8:41 pm: Teddy has been trying to make his players understand to play the ball on ground. That way ATK would be able to have more possession and also be able to create chances for goals.

8:38 pm: Intriguing phase of play. Chances of a goal have looked slim in this period, but it hasn’t been anything but gripping. The build-up to the plays have been superb, and are keeping the crowd on its feet.

8:35 pm: Teddy Sheringham is asking his team ATK to keep the ball on the ground. And ever since the  men in ”Red and White” have started the short pass game they have been in control of the game.

8:32 pm: ATK playing pass-pass-pass and pass. The strategy sure is frustrating the Blasters as they are struggling to keep the ball in possession.

8:28 pm: Late tackle by Lalruatthara, but the ATK free-kick hits the wall and Rachubka easily clears the lines. The counter attack has seen Kerala win a corner at the other end.

8:25 pm: This was the best chance for ATK to score a goal so far.

WATCH|

8:23 pm: JLNS is covered in a yellow blanket, which is the colour of Blasters fans.

8:15 pm: That was close, ATK is playing a  mixture of long and short passes and the gameplay is giving a headache to the opposition defence.  Interestingly, the first ever goal scored in the Indian Super League was by an ATK player – Fikru against Mumbai City FC in Kolkata in a 3-0 win at the Salt Lake Stadium.

8:13 pm: Can somebody please enlighten me if Berbatov is playing or not. So far he has been in the state of limbo.

8:08 pm: It is a strong start by Kolkata and first corner of the match.  However, too much power was put in the ball and could not find the right player.

7:57 pm: The players are out on the field for the Indian national anthem and we’re minutes away from kick-off!

7:42 pm: ATK playing XI- Debjit, Prabir, Thorpe, Jordi (C), Keegan, Rupert, Conor, Eugeneson, Zequinha, Hitesh, Kuqi.

7:40 pm: Kerala Blasters playing XI- Rachubka (GK), Rino Anto, Jhingan (C), Lakic-Pesic, Lalruatthara, Milan Singh, Izumi, Vineeth, Pekuson, Hume and Berbatov

7:33 pm: JLN Stadium is lit up and looks beautiful.

7:24 pm: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif performing at the opening ceremony.

6:52 pm: A sad story for ATK fans is Robbie Keane is out for three matches.
