FIFA Under 17 World Cup 2017: India’s young guns will create history when they took  field against the USA in the third match of the FIFA Under 17 World Cup 2017 on Friday evening at the refurbished Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. India qualified automatically for the event as hosts. On paper, USA is certainly the stronger side with most players having the experience of playing in the Major League Soccer youth teams. India will have the home advantage and captain Amarjit Singh and his team-mates have promised to be competitive at the showpiece event. The Indian team was assembled by coach Luis Norton de Matos in just 7 months. Moirangthem Dheeraj Singh will start for India in the goal while two regular centre-backs Anwar Ali and Jitendra Singh are certainties in the playing XI as well. The six-feet-two inch defensive midfielder Jeakson Singh could be the key man who will strengthen the defence as well besides helping captain Amarjit and Suresh Singh in midfield.

Here are India vs USA:

9:48 pm: The full time whistel gone; USA beat India 3-0.

9:42 pm: Another goal for US, Score moves to 3-0. Sad for the Indian fans. The very first match for India at FIFA World Cup will end with a loss.

9:38 pm: And that was fast, Aniket connects well, and ricochet a deflection. In just few seconds another attack from corner, and bummer, the ball hits

9:36 pm: OFF SIDE; the US striker thought he could just sneak pas the defence but got caught by the sideline refree

9:34 pm: The US players are physically too strong for the Indian players.

9:34 pm: What a waste of a golden chance created by India. A beautiful build-up expects a beautiful goal. But India’s lack of experience comes out as they look clueless despite creating such a spectacular chance.

9:22 pm: Komal Thattal has been impressive so far. Komal takes the free kick, good delivery but could not convert it.

9:06 pm: Pressure at the second half is from USA, corner for them, a bad corner, ball cleared, A volley and the ball deflects, GOAL!

9:04 pm: Great save by Dheeraj, tipped away the ball.

9:02 pm: The second half starts and US put India on back foot already.

8:46 pm: It is just to give you goosebumps and cahnge your sad face into a smile. Watch|

8:44 pm: 1 minute of injury time, and the whistle blows for half time. At half time, its India 0 US 1.

8:41 pm: India now seems to have change the gear and are looking more attacking now. Another attack in making, great cross,  ooooohhhhh, that was a good cross.

8:39 pm: A fact for fans, Aniket Jadhav also featured in 2014 the Indian youth team that toured Bayern Munich.

8:36 pm: The way India is playing currently, it seems they are more towards being defensive, not really interested in attack or is it that they are struggling to hold the ball long enough to build an attack. My bet is on the latter.

8:26 pm: PENALTY! for US. Jitendra with a bad tackle on the US captain. Eyes on Dheeraj. I feel like crying already. Can Dheeraj save it? GOAL! for US. That was a screamer, Sargant kicked the ball hard on the left, Dheeraj misjudged it and flew left. NO GOALIE IN THE WORLD WOULD HAVE SAVED IT ANYWAY. Score: 1-0

8:25 pm: Rahul saves India, kicks the ball out. US gets corner but fail to convert. As expected, the visitors remain the dominating team at the Jawaharlal Nehru ground.

8:23 pm: First corner for India, not a great ball in the box and easy clearance by the US defence. Looks for counter, but is stopped by Amarjit.

8:21 pm: The Indian midfield is sitting too deep which is restricting the forwards to attack. Indian coach, Natos giving advices from the sideline asking the players to distribute the ball and play more of ground passes.

8:17 pm: Great slide by Rahul, defies Tim Weah’s cross. Corner for US.

8:16 pm: The last time these two teams played against each other, USA beat India 4-0.

8:12 pm: That was close, a clearance by India would have turned into a goal. Great reflexes by Dheeraj. The players are supporting each other. It is not these 11 players who supporting each other, it is the population one billion people who are behind these 11 players tonight.

8:08 pm: Sargent with a free kick, hits directly on the wall. Another interesting fact for the fans. Sargent had decided to take up football just when he was 3-years-old and the guy has stood true to his dream. He is the captain of the US Under 17.

8:05 pm: The ball moving majorly in the Indian half. The lads need to step up against the formidable USA. But hats off to the Indian defence led by Anwar Ali. They are taking on the US attack well.

8:03 pm: USA looks dangerous. The Indian lads taking on the pressure well. A matter of fact the US team comprises of players who play in the youth league of MLS and Europe.

8:00 pm: The match kicks off. Gloster tried for the cross but ended up with a disastrous try. No challenge for Dheeraj.

7:56 pm: USA plays the traditional 4-3-3 formation. John Hackworth. The fans are roaring over their voices and cheering the Indian lads.
