India will face New Zealand in the last of the 5 match ODI series in Vizag on Saturday. Playing on the eve of Diwali, the Indian team will be hoping to win the match and clinch as series victory against the Kiwis. The last match at Indian Captain M S Dhoni’s hometown of Ranchi saw India losing to New Zealand by 19 runs. The Vizag pitch is expected to be a batting paradise with a bit of dew in the evening. Although it is reported that there happens to be a cloud cover over the region, hence the dew can possibly be ruled out, making the match more even.

Both India and new Zealand have struggled with their batting ion the series, while their bowling has been mediocre. While India’s star batsman Virat Kohli has an average of 111 in the venue, it has to be seen if he corrects his Ranchi mistake and goes on to score a big innings.

India won the toss and elected to bat

At the end of 50 overs, India score 269 for the loss of 6 wickets
49.4 overs: OUT! Axar Patel gets played on. Inside edge to the stumps. That was an off cutter, drags it on to the stumps
AR Patel b Boult 24 (18b 1×4 1×6) SR: 133.33
49.2 overs: SIX! Offcutter from Trent Boult; Jadhav figures it out quickly, comes down the track and hits hit over Long on.

48.5 overs: SIX! Axar Patel this time! Takes Tim Southee on, hits him straight over his head

43.1 overs: OUT! Kohli trying to go over extra cover, ends up at long on . Guptill takes the catch.

V Kohli c Guptill b Sodhi 65 (76b 2×4 1×6) SR: 85.52
38.4 overs: OUT! Unnecessary shot by Manish Pandey, Attempts a slog to Ish Sodhi, scoops it up in the air, comfortably taken at mid on.
MK Pandey c Boult b Sodhi 0 (5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
37.3 overs: OUT! Dhoni is gone, trapped before the wicket.
MS Dhoni lbw b Santner 41 (59b 4×4 1×6) SR: 69.49
31.5 overs: SIX! flighted outside off and Dhoni hits it straight. He has got enough bat on it! Good hit!
29.4 overs: Four! Dhoni this time! He picks one up against the spin and hits it over the bowler. One bounce, four
29.1 overs: SIX! Kohli jumps down the track and smacks Sodhi over the sight screen. Huge six!
28.5 overs: Four! Dhoni breaks free. Sweeps it hard to square leg for a boundary
21.6 overs: OUT! That was unwarranted. Didn’t have to pull that one. Slow pitch is an understandable excuse but that was fast and at chest height. Top edges it to Neesham

RG Sharma c Neesham b Boult 70 (65b 5×4 3×6) SR: 107.69

17.6 overs: SIX! Shamrma has taken a liking for Ish Sodhi. Slogs him over deep mid wicket. Six more

That was Rohit Sharma’s fifty.

17.3 overs: Four! That was just a touch short and Sharma adjusts quickly, gets deep into the crease and smahes over point.

Sodhi to Sharma, FOUR, that wasn’t entirely short, but Rohit has jumped back in his crease and lashes the ball behind point. Outstanding manipulation of length to get to his fifty

15.5 overs: SIX!  flighted on the off stump, Sharma clears his front leg and hits it over the fielder st Long off boundary.
13.4 overs: Four! That was a terrible ball. slow and short. Sharma took his time and pulls it to square leg.

Kohli comes to bat at no 3 with an average of 111.67 on this ground. In the 3 matches, he has featured in Vizag, Kohli has two hundred and one 99.

11.3 overs: SIX! Rohit ‘Hitman’ Sharma took that one at chest height and hits it on the up over wide long off. He is due for a big one here.
9.2 overs: OUT! Rahane is the first to go. The ball stopped on him and he chipped it away to short midwicket! What a waste of a good start. He was settling in. That was unnecessary.
AM Rahane c Latham b Neesham 20 (39b 3×4 0x6) SR: 51.28

Neesham to Rahane, OUT, chips it straight to short midwicket! The most innocuous of deliveries. Full on middle. There for the flick. But he has not timed the ball. It’s that old weakness of his, unable to force the pace when the pitch becomes slow. He was not quite to the pitch of the ball, it held up on the surface a bit and he didn’t make much of an effort the keep it down. Perhaps he was looking to place it at square leg but since the ball didn’t come on, he found Latham

India is scoring slowly on this surface. The pitch also a tad slow. Looks like it will support spinners later in the day. Although India might be bowling in the dew.

1.5 overs: Four! Great shot, on the up. He hits it through cover point for a four! boy! That raced to the boundary

0.2 overs: Four! Rahane takes on Southee, smashes through covers!
