India vs Pakistan Final Champions Trophy 2017: Pakistan beat India by 180 runs. All good things come to an end and so did this year’s ICC Champions Trophy with today’s India vs Pakistan final, a game that was made in heaven. Who would have expected Pakistan to score over 300 runs against this Indian bowling attack and that in a high-pressure Champions Trophy final? But, that’s what cricket is all about. There’s a reason why it is called game of uncertainty. Fakhar Zaman played out his skin to score his maiden century and now, they are the new champions.

9:25 PM: That’s win! Pakistan is the new ICC Champions Trophy winner. They beat India by 180 runs.
9:12 PM: OUT! Another one for Pakistan. Ashwin also departs. Hassan Ali gets his wicket.
9:08 PM: OUT! Another one down. Ravindra Jadeja departs for 15. It’s just a matter of time now.
9:03 PM: OUT! A huge blow for India. Hardik Pandya goes for 76. To make it worse, it was a run out. That was a disastrous move by both the Indian players.
8:54 PM: At the end of 25th over, India is at 137/6. They still need 202 runs in 150 balls.
8:47 PM: SIX! Smashed by Hardik Pandya. That one went 94 metres. A big one. Follows it with another six. He is on a roll.

8:21 PM: Kedar Jadhav and Hardik Pandya are at the crease now. They both are very talented and have done it in the past. But, 339 maybe too much to ask for.
8:16 PM: OUT! MS Dhoni is gone. Short, he tried to pull but was got at the boundary. The former Indian captain is gone for 4.
8:11 PM: OUT! Yuvraj Singh departs! He goes for 22, Shadab Khan gets the wicket. That’s a massive blow for India.
8:07 PM: Yuvraj and MS Dhoni are taking their time here and rightly so. India desperately need a good partnership.
8:00 PM: Short and pulled away by Yuvraj Singh! A couple of more runs for him. Yuvraj has moved on to 20 and he is looking good now.
7:53 PM: FOUR! Couple of good shots by Yuvraj Singh against Mohammad Hafeez. He is joined at the creased by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

7:33 PM: A couple of good strokes from Shikhar Dhawan and he has got going. Dhawan will have to play an important role
7:25 PM: Yuvraj Singh is the new man in. This has become very tough for India now.

6:38 PM: That’s it! The target for India is 339 runs.
6:28 PM: Bowlers have pulled things back in last couple of overs. Bumrah will bowl the 49th.
6:24 PM: Good over so far from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Just three runs have come from the first three balls of the 48th over.
6:20 PM: India will have to be at their best for these last few balls if they want to save the game. Anything above that will become really difficult for them.

6:12 PM: Brilliant over for Pakistan. 15 runs came from that last over. The score is now 294/4 after the 45th over.
6:10 PM: Kedar Jadhav will bowl the 45th over. You don’t see that too often but just 11 runs have come from his first two overs.
6:07 PM: 39 balls are remaining now and Pakistan is already at 275. They would target at least 350 runs from here.
6:03 PM: OUT! Big wicket for India. The golden arm of Kedar Jadhav has worked again for Virat Kohli. Azam goes for 46 and Imad Wasim is the new man in.
5:59 PM: Ravindra Jadeja has proved very expensive today. He has given away 67 runs from his 8 overs so far. The score is 266/3 at the end of 42 overs.
5:56 PM: FOUR! Another boundary from Hafeez’s blade. 41 runs have been scored in the last 5 overs and Pakistan lost one wicket as well.

5:45 pm: Babar Azam is in the 40s now and is looking set for a big one as well. He will become an important player given that he is set now.

2:12 PM: “It is a big match. A final match is happening after 10 years. The last time India and Pakistan met in the finals was in T20 World Cup in 2007. I was a part of that match,” says Irfan Pathan.
2:07 PM: “There is a bit of grass, but it’s dead grass, because the sun has been out. This is a fresh pitch. This has not been used in the tournament. It is a very good surface,”says Nasser Hussain at the pitch report. So expect a lot of runs today.
2:02 PM: There will be high hopes from Shikhar Dhawan who is currently the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 317 runs to his name.
2:00 PM: “The edge is with India. They will probably go into the game as favourites. Pakistan have played some good cricket and have had some good wins. On a day, anybody can win. But at the moment I will have to give an edge to India, their batting line up is quite stronger,” Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait told PTI.

1:30 PM: The last time India and Pakistan played a final in an ICC Champions Trophy it was in 2007. That was MS Dhoni’s first ICC tournament as captain and this is Virat Kohli’s first.
1:10 PM: “Everyone is aware of the kind of talent they have in their team, and on their day they can beat any side in the world. That’s the kind of players they have, and that’s the kind of ability they have in their side,” said Indian captain Virat Kohli.
12:50 PM: “We’ve got to look at our strengths, and our strengths have been the fact that we’ve been able to take wickets and we’ve been able to take wickets consistently through the middle periods,” said coach Micky Arthur before the game.
