December 19 will be remembered as a historic day in the cricketing history of India. Karun Nair shines as the brightest star on the fourth day of the fifth test match against England when he converted his maiden test century to a double and then a triple century only to be the second player to do so after Vinod Kambli who scored 224 against England at Wankhede stadium back in 1993.
Almost an unknown face, Nair admits that he was nervous throughout the game till his second century for which he took 121 deliveries while consuming only 75 to deliver the last.
Well, this is not the first time he has done it. In his debut season at the Ranji Trophy Nair steered Karnataka to win in which he scored three consecutive tons in the final league game. In that very season Nair scored a total of 709 runs in all the 10 matches.

Blessings and congratulatory wishes have poured in from teammates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other former cricketers.
