Two weks before the New Year, Indian cricketer Karun Nair gave reason to India to celebrate with hitting triple century in the fifth Test match in a series against England in Chennai on Monday. Nair has become the second player to touch this score after legendary cricketer Virender Sehwag who made this record 12 years and 8 months ago against Pakistan in Multan. Excited over it, Sehwag took no time to congratulate the young sportsman and posted a message on his Twitter account welcoming him to the “300 club.”

West Indies player Chris Gayle, who also hit triple Test century, congratulated Nair. “Welcome to the 300 club youngster @karun126 #Super,” wrote Gayle.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished Nair and wrote, “Congratulations on the historic triple century @karun126! We all are delighted & proud of your remarkable feat” The next wish came from the Board of Cricket Council of India.

On its official page, the BCCI tweeted “A triple hundred for @karun126 followed by the declaration from #TeamIndia skipper.” It was followed by an array of greeting for Nair with other Indian and International cricketers, politicians, Bollywood celebrities, socialists and other. Also, BCCI chief Anurag Thakur conveyed greeting to Nair. In an interaction with news agency ANI, he said “Karun Nair aged 25 has scored a triple century which is a big feat. Heartiest congratulations to him.”
Cricketer Mohammad Kaif wrote “Karun Nair reaches 250, a landmark only 3 other Indians @virendersehwag (4times), Dravid and @VVSLaxman281 (1each) have reached.”
Cricketer VVS Laxman felt proud of Nair. He wrote, “Awesome achievement @karun126. Congratulations on ur maiden 200. Proud of u young man.”
Gautam Gambhir also wished Nair with posting an image of him and writing, “A brilliantly paced knock by a really talented young batsman! Congratulations @karun126 on a truly splendid knock! ”
Meanwhile, Nair gave the credit of his achievement to his team. He said he would like to thank the team management for giving him the extra time to score 300. The players called it the “best knock” he had ever played in his life.
