The Chennai Test is interestingly poised at day-3, tea break; as India scored 256/3 in reply to England’s 477, still trailing by 221 runs. At crease were the Karnataka duo of KL Rahul and Karun Nair building a 45 runs unbeaten partnership. Rahul reached his 4th Test ton, 1st in Indian soil and 1st against England too. England would be immensely pleased with the 2nd session as Stuart Broad got the big fish in captain Virat Kohli, dismissed for 15. The slow leg-cutter outside off-stump worked wonders as Kohli drove it straight to Keaton Jennings stationed at short extra cover, who gladly took a regulation catch; much to the dismay of the Chennai crowd.
England also got rid of the ever-reliant Cheteshwar Pujara. All-rounder Ben Stokes bowled one widish length, which Pujara poked, only to be caught behind by keeper Jonny Bairstow.

England take the afternoon session after claiming the prized scalps of Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara. They brought back the cheers in the English supporters after a rather poor morning session. KL Rahul has sticked to one end and is unbeaten on 133, as the RCB-star looks to get past 150 and keep afloat India’s run-flow. England bowled much better in the second session after being hit for runs in the morning, as India’s run rate surpassed four.
