The Indian cricket team was welcomed by rain in Kolkata which forced the Virat Kohli-led side to cancel its practice session ahead of the 2nd ODI. While most players would have spent this time relaxing, former Indian captain MS Dhoni had different ideas. Dhoni who played a brilliant knock in the last match headed to the Kolkata Police Training school for a pistol shooting session. The Kolkata police later uploaded a video on its Facebook account in which Dhoni can be seen shooting at the target.

The Kolkata Police was delighted to host Dhoni and said that his accuracy is breathtaking. “The great MS Dhoni takes some time off to practice his shooting skills at our state of the art shooting range this afternoon at Police Training School. His accuracy is breathtaking,” Kolkata Police posted on their Facebook page.

A top Kolkata police official was quoted saying by The Indian Express that Dhoni also inspired the Kolkata Police recruits with a pep-talk during his visit in the afternoon. “It’s great to host Dhoni for the second time. He’s an extraordinary marksman and inspired us all,” a Kolkata Police official who accompanied Dhoni is quoted as saying by PTI, “It’s a state of art shooting range at PTS and Dhoni shot both in the 10m and 25 ranges.”

The former Indian captain has been nominated for India’s third highest civilian award: the Padma Bhushan by BCCI yesterday. “Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been nominated by the BCCI for the Padma Bhushan award. It was a unanimous decision by the members. He has been one of the greatest names in contemporary cricket and the most appropriate choice of the Indian cricket board,” BCCI acting president CK Khanna had told PTI.
