Playing for the England Physical Disability (PD) team, disabled cricketer Liam Thomas, displayed an incredible performance in a match against Pakistan in a Twenty20 last week, as he continued fielding even after his artificial legs came unstrapped.
Even after losing the leg Thomas made sure that nothing goes wrong for their side, in the ICC Academy Dubai Invitational Twety20 final against Pakistan. The artificial leg got detached from the player as he attempted to stop a ball from crossing the boundary, but undeterred by the incident and before picking up the artificial limb, Thomas retrieved the ball, hopping on one leg and returned it to the wickets.
However, even after the dedicated efforts from Thomas, England lost to Pakistan by three wickets in the final. Thomas showed good batting skills during their opening match against Bangladesh, where England won by six wickets to reach the finals. Team captain Iain Nairn was all praise for his side even after their loss in the final.
This tour being the second International tour for the England PD, the team was last year crowned the inaugural world champions in Bangladesh following their win against Pakistan by 19 runs.
