At the stroke of lunch at the Mohali Test, Virat Kohli is already sensing victory on Day-4 itself as England lost 3 wickets in the morning session, Root being the most valuable one. The Indian spinners have been impressive in this session as Ravindra Jadeja scalped two wickets while the new-comer Jayant Yadav dismissed Jos Buttler. ‘Sir’ Jadeja first wiped off the night-watchman Gareth Batty who was out plumb LBW and the other one has been the moment of the morning session when out-of-form Ajinkya Rahane took a left-handed blinder to dismiss Root. The ball took a sharp edge from Root’s bat, and it was a perfect timed reaction from Rahane that resulted in successful completion of the catch!

At lunch, England is reeling at 156/7, with a slender lead of 22 runs, having only 3 wickets in hand.
Post-lunch, India would like to finish off the wagging English tail as soon as possible and complete the formalities by chasing down the small lead which England have taken. However, Kohli and his boys should keep away from complacency, as they wouldn’t want England to tire the bowlers for long, thereby delaying the inevitable. As of now, it seems, the match will end post-tea at the third session, today itself on Day-4. England couldn’t capitalise on their batting in the first innings despite winning an important toss on Day-1.
