Arsenal have signed goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea in a deal reportedly worth about 10 million pounds.
The Czech Republic goalkeeper, who appeared for more than 400 club games in 11 seasons at Stamford Bridge, has joined the Gunners on a four-year contract, the BBC reported.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said that Cech was a player he had admired for a long time and he was very pleased that the goalkeeper had decided to join them.
Cech has won 13 trophies with Chelsea – including one Champions League and four Premier League titles.
He also set a club goalkeeping record of 228 clean sheets in all competitions, beating the previous highest total of 208, set by former England international Peter Bonetti between 1960 and 1979.
Cech is Arsenal’s first signing of the summer, but Wenger is expected to go back to the transfer market for a defensive midfielder and a striker.
