For Bollywood studios, box office collections success came via Chennai Express, Raanjhanaa, Madras Cafe

Among Bollywood studios, UTV had a great year courtesy starting with ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, Kai Po Che, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express among others. Chennai Express, the Indian romantic action-comedy film was the second collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone after the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om. The film broke the box office collections of Amir Khan's 3 Idiots.
Viacom had a few notable films like Madras Cafe to their credit. An Indian political espionage thriller is based upon the time of Indian intervention in the Sri Lankan civil war and assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
With Raanjhanaa and Ram Leela on their slate, Eros did well too. And if we talk about the box office collections of this particular film, it was Rs 5.12 crore on the opening day and it was Rs 20.08 crore for the opening weekend. The entire box office collections for the film was Rs 60.35 crore.
