The Budget is expected to announce measures to restore private sector interest in big generation projects such as Ultra Mega Power Projects and improving the bankability of stranded projects, including those affected by fuel supply woes. An announcement of a nationwide plan based on Gujarat’s Jyotigram Yojana is also likely, under which separation of feeders for agricultural and rural household consumption is envisaged across states.
