Daddy movie review: Ahluwalia creates a Robin Hood out of Gawli's character who takes from the rich to help the poor and this is a little cliched. Despite putting up commendable camerawork, and sketching a believable backdrop in which the movie is set, it lacks the appeal of its characters which failed to do the wonders it was expected to. Daddy movie review: However, for those who want to get up close and personal with near-term history, this is a must-watch movie. It will put in perspective much of what Mumbai and its underworld is all about and much of it applies even today. Also, Rampal manages to fill the screen like few manage to do - it is intriguing and bizarre at the same moment. (Bollywood Hungama)

Daddy movie review: The movie's 70's appeal is commendable, starting from its big hair and collars and flared pant to the Mumbai chawl and street scenes, the visuals are beautifully shot. The movie could have been far more riveting given the storyline which gave ample scope for a better show. Overall, Daddy ends up being another gangster drama that throws up a stray ray of sunshine every now and then. (Bollywood Hungama)
