Rajinikanth starrer Kabali has fought the big fight against the best of the Bollwyood brigade and emerged triumphant. Whether it was the best-ever achievement of Aamir Khan, Salman Khan or even Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan or Akshay Kumar, nothing has been able to stop the collections trajectory of this megastar's journey to re-establish himself as the pre-eminent force in filmdom. At Rs 625.65 cr overall lifetime collections, Aamir Khan's PK had established a record that few, if anyone, could even have thought was going to be beatable. But, while that may have been true of the Bollywood brigade, the forecasters did not factor in the dark horse in the form of southern superstar Rajinikanth and his latest release Kabali. So, now we have a new champion courtesy the major collections figures he has generated. Check this approximation out, Rs 200 cr from marketing, Rs 205 crore from the Indian collections and another Rs 255 cr from the international market (9 day scoreline) - put it all together and it spells No. 1! Amazing stuff, indeed and something of a dificult-to-emulate feat for anyone following up with same-in-class or better movies. But, dear reader, do remember that Bollywood has a penchant for striking back hard and the test may come as soon as mid-August when Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro is launched. Howeer, it would be difficult as Akshay Kumar's Rustom too is releasing on same day. That means both may end up cannibalising each others' collections. (Reuters)

The other major achievement of a Bollywood star that Rajinikanth obliterated was that by Salman Khan's Sultan. The movie has been doing well and had climbed to No. 2 position behind Aamir Khan's PK, but its stay in that position was cut short by Kabali which jumpd from nowhere to No. 1 position, pushing PK to No. 2 and muscling out Sultan to No. 3. at Rs 568.76 crore. Another essential Salman Khan special, the superb Bajrangi Bhaijaan also gets demoted, with a collection of Rs 486.95 cr overall from all sources, the film has no choice but to fall a spot. While it did well both in Indian and international markets, Bajrangi Bhaijaan was not able to compete with the kind if returns that Kabali has been doing from foreign sources.

And that's why Rajini had to give money from his own pocket when Lingaa flopped even kabali collections are fake there is not a single reliable source to support the producer's ridiculous claims.
