Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP) box office collections have risen to near Rs 200 crore mark in the domestic market alone. While it must be said that this is courtesy PRDP collections having had a free run in theatres, sans a rival in sight, but much of it is due to the huge fan base Salman Khan commands and also due to this movie being directed at families, rather than simply at teenagers and adults. This combo has enabled it to skyrocket in the first few day and then cruise past various Bollywood landmarks - Rs 100 cr, Rs 150 cr and more. Now, in the second week, the going has become tough, especially after the release of Daniel Craig starrer ‘Spectre’, the highly anticipated 24th James Bond film, which has done some damage to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo collections, especially in the metros by grossing Rs 31.90 crore in its opening weekend. But, 'Spectre' is not expected to capture the attention of the theatre-going public for long after the weekend is over. (Bollywood Hungama)
