SILICON VALLEY, NOV 9: Indian pharmaceutical major Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd is scouting for scientists in the United States to expand its research and development facilities in India.
Seeking to increase its share in the global market, the company is looking for scientists to add to its research and development team in New Delhi, senior company officials, participating in the annual meeting of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), said in the Silicon Valley.
Ranbaxy is looking to recruit around 40 pharmaceutical scientists in areas of early discovery and development of drugs, quality assurance and regulatory affairs through the career centre at the meet, the sources said.
The company currently employs more than 1,100 scientists, some of them from the United States and the United Kingdom.
Besides India, the company is also looking for qualified personnel for its facilities in the US, China, Singapore and the UK.
A senior delegation, led by director human resources Udbhav Ganjoo, is currently in baltimore, Maryland to take part in the meeting.
Ranbaxy is the only international company to attend the annual AAPS meeting this year.
Some of the other big names using the AAPS 2004 annual meeting career center to recruit staff include Roche, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research, Pfizer Inc, Pharma Science and GSK. |
