Ranbaxy is looking to recruit around 40 pharmaceutical scientists in areas of early discovery and development of drugs, quality assurance and regulatory affairs through the career centre at the meet, the sources said.

The company currently employs more than 1,100 scientists, some of them from the United States and the United Kingdom.

Besides India, the company is also looking for qualified personnel for its facilities in the US, China, Singapore and the UK.

A senior delegation, led by director human resources Udbhav Ganjoo, is currently in baltimore, Maryland to take part in the meeting.

Ranbaxy is the only international company to attend the annual AAPS meeting this year.

Some of the other big names using the AAPS 2004 annual meeting career center to recruit staff include Roche, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research, Pfizer Inc, Pharma Science and GSK.
