NEW DELHI, July 8: A 12-member team (six men and six women) will left for Adelaide today to participate in the sixth World Korfball Championships to be held there from July 10-17. The team had been training at the I G Stadium for the past one week.The 12 participating nations have been divided into three pools. India have been placed in pool B along with Australia, Belgium and Great Britain. Netherlands, the eigning champions, are in pool A along with Spain, Germany and Japan. Pool C comprises Poland, Portugal, South Africa and Chinese Taipei.
The Indian team:
Men: Ram Pal, Raj Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Saini, Prem Kumar Saini, Ankur Mukhariya, Ravi Sharma. Women: Aparna Singh, Reena Singh, renu Kulshetra, Saraswati Gujar, Anita Mathur and Indu.
Dalip Kumar of Rajasthan will accompany the team as manager while Mukesh Kumar Khandelwal of UP will be the coach.
Jawahar tourney
The first Jawahar Singh memorial cricket tournament will be organised from July 17 at Shanti Sports complex ground. The winners and runners-up will receive Rs 75,000 and Rs 41,000, respectively. Entries close with Rambir Lohia, Phone 6501316, 6501538.
