FIPB allows Hitachi, Pizza to hike stakes
The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) has reportedly permitted Hitachi of Japan and Pizza Corner to hike stakes in their respective joint venture companies by purchasing the equity of their Indian partners.

Escorts net dips 32%, retains 45% dividend
Escorts Ltd has reported a 32% drop in net profit to Rs 110.17 crore in 1998-99 compared to Rs 163.44 crore in 1997-98. The company has declared a dividend of 45% in 1998-99.

IDBI to repay Rs 5,000 crore SLR funds
Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) will phase out statutory liquidity ratio (SLR) bonds worth Rs 5,000 crore, accounting for 20% of its borrowing portfolio, in the next five years.
