Centre bans PTV
The Union Government has imposed an indefinite ban on receiving signals of the Pakistan Television (PTV) in India. Anyone violating the ban and found receiving or forwarding the signal will face stringent police action.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) yesterday denied reports it has conspired to assassinate Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vowed it "will not act in anyway prejudicial to the Indian national interests".
