Toying with an idea What would a child's life be without toys and books? Pretty sad. To bridge this gap in many underprivileged homes, the Stepping Stones Nursery has started a toy and book library. During the day, it functions as a nursery at Prerna Apartments, Viman Nagar, and then doubles up as a hobby centre including a library for children. On the lookout for some decent toys and books, its coordinator Marzia says, ``Many children have an overdose of toys and books and then there are those who have none. If one gives away such items that are in a good condition, we will be glad to accept them.'' What could be a better way than this to teach kids about sharing?Force fundas The call to defend one's country is full of challenges. To steel oneself to a career in the defence services, the Career Courses Information Motivation Guidance and Counselling Foundation will hold a one-day workshop on April 4 between 10.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Bharat English High School, Shivajinagar. ``The workshop will provide information about how to face entrance examinations, the challenges and rewards of a life in the defence services,'' says Nandini Natu who along with Major Avinash Natu will conduct the workshop.
