Social activist flays State govt

VADODARA, March 30: Eminent social activist and academician Prof J S Bandukwala has criticised the State government for its ``inept'' handling of the Mahavir Jayanti and Bakri Id festivals in Ahmedabad. In a press statement on Monday, Bandukwala claimed that the Keshubhai Patel government had not tackled the issue with expertise. ``No wonder, it (the government) has no credibility on the communal front,'' he said, alleging that the by pampering the Bajrang Dal and allowing them to dictate the agenda, Gujarat's esteem had been lowered in the country and the world.Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
