Paresh Madhukar Sagar alias Parshottam alias Passo, (22), Pragji Laxman alias Pali alias Paalav (20) and Ravindra Prakash Vaghela alias Ravi were taken into custody by the Varachha police on the basis of a transfer warrant from the Ankleshwar court.

The three arrested persons, along with one Chhotu Dudhani (20), had attempted to loot a salesman of a company outside Varachha Co-operative Bank Limited. While Dudhani was nabbed by a mob and bashed up severely -- later dying from his injuries -- the other three managed to escape.

PSI R M Jhala, who is investigating the case produced the three before a magistrate late on Tuesday evening and asked for them to be remanded into custody. Providing information, the special branch said that the three were arrested earlier this month by Ankleshwar police. The police said that the foursome were involved in a number of theft cases.
