EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, MARCH 26: Arthur Pereira helped Goan Sport Association score an emphatic 3-0 win over Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in Group B of the First Karnatak Veterans Football tournament, sponsored by MIS Raja Radio Palace, today at the Karnatak Sporting Association ground. In another match earlier today, Sushil Kumar of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers (RCF) scored a fine equaliser to bring back his side in a drawn encounter against Bombay Customs in a Group A match. RCF have a single point while Customs also managed to open their account.

International Bandiya Kakade's brilliance under the bar encouraged Tatas to play a goalless draw against Bombay Port Trust (BPT) in a Group A tie. Tatas have four points while BPT managed one from the tie.

Goans dominated the match from the word go. Arthur Pereira, the former international and Orkay player, scored the first goal for William Mendonca. Pereira, on a through ball, put Mendonca in the 12th minute to place his shot to the right of Vilas Soste, RBIgoalkeeper.

In the 19th minute, Pereira unleashed a powerful curling shot to find the roof of the BPT goal. Winger Roy Fernandes' parallel inside the box was enough for Pereira to swell the net. In the opening minute of second-half, Roy Fernandes found the net on Remy Fernandes' free-kick to make it 3-0 in favour of Goans.

RCF conceded an early goal as Customs' winger Anand Singh sent a cross on the RCF's goal mouth where Geovani Santiman was waiting to put it across.Sushil Kumar scored a fine goal and drew parity for RCF in the 12th minute. Medio Francis Pereira sent a cross on the goal mouth. Onrushing Kumar volleyed to bulge the net from close range.
